Vince Betro

Vince Betro is a Software Engineer at HUB Financial Services, where he codes in React JS and C# for a variety of components of the Ecommerce platform.  He has helped realize such features as adding support for Kentucky taxes based on GPS coordinates, directly issuing and printing Escrow Checks (as well as determining their dispensation), and creating an automated system for determining placement values for force-placed insurance policies.  He has been with HUB since 2019.

Prior to joining HUB, he was a mathematics and computer science instructor at The Baylor School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (both in Chattanooga, TN), with a combined 15 years of teaching experience.  In between those two jobs, he was a computational scientist at the National Institute for Computational Sciences, a joint venture of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Department of Energy) in Oak Ridge, TN for four years.  He was also a Level 2 Manager for Education and Outreach with the multi-million-dollar XSEDE NSF project during that time.

Vince holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (’02), a Master’s degree in Engineering (’07), and a Ph.D. in Computational Engineering (’10), all from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
